Trace is built for a specific job. It compares faces across public web images. It does not identify a person. It does not return private records. It does not give you a name, address or phone number. It shows public URLs and a number, so you can review the result yourself.

WHAT TRACEFACE DOES

Trace searches for the same face across the part of the public web it can reach. You upload one photograph containing a face. The system compares the face in that photograph with faces in its index, then returns matching public pages and profiles.

Each result contains a similarity score and a link. The score is a comparison between two images. The link lets you open the public page where the matching face appears.

Trace matches the face, not the image file. This is the important distinction. A normal reverse image search looks for the same image file, or very similar versions of that file. Trace can find the same person in a different photograph because it is comparing the face itself.

That makes Trace useful when the image has been cropped, resized, reposted, or replaced by a different photo of the same face. It is not limited to exact copies of the upload.

WHAT TRACEFACE DOES NOT DO

Trace is not an identification service. A result is never a statement that somebody is a particular person. It is only a similarity score between two face images.

This matters. Close relatives, twins and people who merely look alike can score highly. A high score should be treated as a lead to review, not as proof of identity.

Trace also does not return names, addresses, phone numbers or records of any kind. It returns public URLs and a similarity number. If a page contains public information, you can open the page and decide what it means.

An empty result is also limited in meaning. It means Trace did not find that face on the part of the public web it can reach. It is not evidence that a person has no online presence.

HOW A SEARCH WORKS

A traceface search starts with one photograph of a face. You do not need to create an account. On first visit, the panel issues an account ID and a recovery key.

The recovery key is shown once. You should save it if you want to recover access later. Trace does not ask you to go through a normal account sign-up flow before using the panel.

If you run a scan without credits, Trace shows a blurred preview of what was found before you pay. This lets you see whether the search returned something before unlocking the full result.

One credit unlocks one search. Credits are bought in dollar-priced packs by card, with Telegram Stars, or with cryptocurrency. Credits never expire, and nothing renews automatically.

WHY FACE SEARCH IS DIFFERENT FROM IMAGE SEARCH

Reverse image search is file-centred. It is useful when you want to know where an exact picture, near-duplicate, or altered copy appears online. It may miss a person if the photo is different.

Trace is face-centred. It compares the face in your upload with faces in public web images. That means the source image does not need to be the same.

For example, the uploaded image and the returned image can be different photographs. The face can appear in a different pose, setting, or page context. Trace still returns the result as a similarity comparison, not as an identity claim.

This is why traceface searches are useful when the question is not where this file appears, but where this face appears publicly.

RESPONSIBLE USE

Trace should be used to review public appearances of a face, not to harass, threaten, stalk, or force contact with anyone. The output is a set of public URLs and similarity scores. It should be handled carefully.

Do not treat a result as proof of who someone is. Do not use it to make accusations. Do not use it to identify a private individual against their will.

The responsible use is to check public web appearances, verify whether an image appears in public contexts, and review links manually. The system gives you search results. You remain responsible for how you use them.

PRIVACY AND REMOVAL

Anyone can have their face deleted from Trace's index and permanently blocked from being re-added. The removal page is available at traceaifacescan.app/remove-my-photos.

No account is required for removal. No identification is required. The request is about the face in the index, not about proving a legal identity.

This is an important part of the service design. Trace searches public web material, but people can still choose to remove their face from Trace's index and block future re-addition.

FOR DEVELOPERS AND TEAMS

Trace is also available as a REST API. This is useful if you need to connect reverse face search to your own workflow rather than use only the web panel.

The same limits still matter. The API returns face-match results based on public web appearances. It does not identify people, return private records, or make claims about who someone is.

Developers should present results with the same care. A similarity score is not an identity. A public URL is not confirmation. Human review and responsible use are still required.

If results are available, you can unlock the search with one credit. If nothing is found, that only means Trace found no match in the public web area it can reach.
