Remove my photos

Trace keeps an index of faces it has already verified on public web pages. If you are in it, this page takes you out and keeps you out. It takes one photo and about ten seconds.

What this does

Deletes every entry in our index that matches your face — the face crop, the page address it was found on, and the measurement that links the two.
Adds your face to a permanent do-not-index list, so the next search cannot put you back. Without this step the removal would last hours, not forever.
Stops you appearing in future search results, even results that come straight from a search engine and never touched our index.

What this cannot do

It does not remove anything from the internet. The photos themselves stay on the websites that published them, and stay in Google, Bing and Yandex. Only those sites can take them down.
It cannot undo a search someone already ran. Results already saved to their account stay there until they delete them or our retention period expires.

Send the request

Upload a clear photo of your face, looking at the camera. We read the measurement that identifies the face and then discard the file — the photo itself is never stored, and we do not ask for your name, your email or your ID.

This is my own face, and I am asking for it to be removed from the Trace index.

We do not verify identity, because asking you for ID would mean collecting more about you than we hold now. Removing a face costs nothing and takes nothing away from you.
